Many exciting events take place around the Wine Country each year. This is just a small sampling from the great variety of fun things to do while visiting Sonoma County and points beyond.

Also, when visiting Santa Rosa, be sure to stop by the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Snoopy Home Ice Arena.

JANUARY 2009

Cloverdale Old Time Fiddle Festival
A celebration of old-time fiddle music in Cloverdale. Saturday - Sunday, January 24-25

Napa Valley Mustard Festival
A sensational season of wine country events in Napa County.

Olive Festival - Sonoma Valley
A celebration of olive cultivation through a variety of events. December 2008-March 2009

Amgen Tour of California Cycling Race
The world's top professional cycling teams compete over an eight-day, 700-mile race on a route that includes the wine country. February 14-22

Russian River Wine Road Barrel Tasting
Over 100 wineries along the Russian River open their cellars for your tasting pleasure.

Mustard, Mud and Music - Calistoga Jazz Festival
The entire downtown area along Lincoln Avenue will be transformed to feature a variety of jazz groups, tastings of choice local wines in this famed hot springs town.

APRIL 2009

Sonoma Valley Film Festival
Showcasing the best of new independent cinema alongside regional cuisine and tastings of award-winning wine from over 30 wineries.

Apple Blossom Festival & Parade
Food, drink and nonstop entertainment as well as crafts galore will delight all your senses in charming Sebastopol.

MAY 2009

Hopland Passport
The Hopland Passport held in ten Mendocino County wineries is held in both May and October and includes two days of wine tastings, food pairings, live music and much more.

Boonville Beer Fest
Beer, music, and fun in Mendocino County's beautiful Anderson Valley.

Sonoma Jazz +
Featuring the perfect pairing of music and wine with the Bay Area's finest musicians & Sonoma Valley's finest wines, set in and around the historic Sonoma Plaza. Memorial Day Weekend.

JUNE 2009

Sonoma-Marin Fair
A fun home-town fair at the Petaluma Fairgrounds that features animals, agriculture, rides, art and craft exhibits, entertainment, food, and the famous World's Ugliest Dog Contest.

Healdsburg Jazz Festival
There is live jazz every week in charming Healdsburg and a very special Jazz Festival in June.

Nascar Sprint Cup Series
Toyota/Savemart 350, Infineon Raceway
The weekend will also feature the top racing stars of tomorrow in the NASCAR Elite Division, West Series, as well as an extensive vendor midway and other entertainment.

Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic
Bring the whole family to Keiser Park in Windsor for two days of beautiful hot air balloons, food, crafts, balloon rides, and fun.

Point Reyes Farmers Market
Featuring locally grown organic produce, baked goods, artisan cheese, olive oils, home-made preserves, grass-fed beef, oysters, bee products and flower, the market is located in Toby's Feed Barn on Highway 1 in Pt. Reyes Station; a short distance from Marin County's Point Reyes National Seashore and hundreds of miles of hiking trails.

Sonoma County Fair
An old-fashioned county fair that offers great entertainment, exhibits, food, flowers, carnival rides and fun for all ages.

AUGUST 2009

Wings Over Wine Country Air Show
The Pacific Coast Air Museum's spectacular annual event! Historic warbirds and antique and modern aircraft perform fly bys, stunts, and are on display. The Air Museum also offers aircraft "Climb Aboards" every month.

Gravenstein Apple Fair
This Sebastopol fair showcases arts, crafts, food, wines & brews, games, entertainment and farm life activities. Visitors enjoy the unique flavor of an old-time country get-together and celebrate the Gravenstein apple. (Pies and cobblers, yum!)

SEPTEMBER 2009

Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival
More than 170 varieties of fresh picked heirloom tomatoes in every size, shape and color imaginable will be featured at Kendall-Jacksons Wine Center in Fulton.

Russian River Jazz Festival
Great music outdoors on Johnson's Beach.

Taste of Petaluma
Embark on a culinary journey of Petaluma's finest restaurants, wineries, breweries, and food purveyors. Fine dining, great wine, art, entertainment and shopping in historic downtown.

Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival - 112th Year
Since 1897 this Sonoma tradition celebrates the Valley's bounty, community and local culture. Food, wine, and music make this three day event one not to be missed.

OCTOBER 2009

Harvest Fair
Taste over 550 winning wines, sample local food, stomp grapes, view art exhibits, see giant pumpkins and have a great time at the Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa.

Charles Schwab Cup Championship
Part of the PGA tour, this championship is held at the beautiful Sonoma Golf Club.

Hopland Passport

Windsor Holiday Celebration
Windsor's Annual Holiday Celebration and Old Downtown Business Open House. Holly Trolley tours, Polar Express train rides, Jingle Bell Carriage rides, Children's holiday crafts, strolling carolers, musical entertainment & treats.

Holiday Parade of Lights
Parade of Lights featuring more than 100 entries of floats, horses, marching bands, antique cars, trucks and more all decorated with Christmas lights. Free Cookies and Cider, on the Plaza. Downtown Guerneville on the Russian River.

Carols in the Caves
Enjoy the magic of rare dulcimers, harps, flutes, drums & more. A fun, relaxing, underground adventure in wine caves.
