The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires that Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport issue badges to all individuals who have unescorted access to the fenced area of Airport property. Please read the information below to learn what is required to receive a badge.
The Airport Operations Area consists of the restricted ground areas of the Airport, including taxiways, runways, and parking areas. The TSA defines these areas as all areas contained within the Airport’s security fencing, except for the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA). The following is a list of the types of individuals who may be required to have an AOA badge:
| Hangar tenants | Commercial tenants |
| Flight school employees / students | Fixed Based Operator (FBO) employees |
| Firefighters | Contractors |
| Paramedics | Balloon Operators |
| Law Enforcement Officers | Delivery service employees (e.g. FedEx / UPS) |
| Track users |
Note: Pilots and passengers of transient aircraft are not required to have Sonoma County Airport badges, but they are required to stay within the Airport transient area or an FBO transient area unless escorted by an individual with a current Airport badge.

SIDA badges are only given to those who need access for employment purposes. The following is a sample list of individuals who may be required to have a SIDA badge:
| Fixed Based Operator (FBO) employees | Janitorial service employees |
